Sexy White Corset Embellishment Tutorial
First things first, I used Ranger Inks’s new Distress Spray Stain in Picket fence on our Large Lace-Up Corset. (Sorry for the poor quality image, I have a shoe box that I place the chipboard embellishment in to keep paint form getting everywhere.)
The I added 3/16″ eyelets in a copper color to each hole.
Then I sprayed and laid out two of our Large Lace-Up Long Gloves to go with the corset. I also used the Ranger Inks’ Picket Fence on the gloves.
I laced up the corset using Butcher’s twine. I used a standard criss cross stitch like you would use on sneakers. To get it even, I folded the string in half. I started at the bottom of the corset so that the bow would be at the top.
Now for the gloves… For the Lace-Up Glove I used a simple over under stitch where I came up through the hole, went over the edge and around to the back and then back up through the next hole.
The Lace-Up Corset and the Lace-Up Gloves look nice together don’t they? We also have small Lace-Up Corset and a set of Small Lace-Up Gloves that work well together as well. I used the small Lace-Up Corset in my two previous tutorials on Making a Dark Angel and an Angel of Light. If you missed those check them out! I even did a time lapse video for the Angel of Light! The small ones are great for greeting cards or smaller projects. This large corset and gloves measure over 6″ when complete.
Now for the fun part… Detailing!
I’m using the new Pico irRESISTable embellisher in white and a gold gel pen. I drew three lines of white up the waist to make the boning in the corset. Then between each “bone” I drew curling golden swirls and leaves. I added little dashes at the bottom edge to represent gold stitching. And I drew a sort of loose flower shape over the breasts. I added dots, dashes and loops of the white to the small areas in-between. I also added some extra upside down holes with this old school heart hole punch I found in my stash to the top edge.
I added a rhinestone sicker to make a ring on the ring finger of the glove. And three lines on the back of the hand with the white to add dimension.
And here is the finished results.
Sort of a Sexy Shabby Chic Corset embellishment Huh?
Like always I’d love to see what you make. So, leave me a comment or send me a picture.
