Last year, I took a online class with Teesha Moore and Jane Davenport -Mermaid Circus. Focused on creating mixed-media collages in the Teesha more style it was great fun. Afterwords, the other girls from the class -and I- wanted to keep creating so it was suggested we do a round robin art journal. At the time I was just eating the prototypes for the Totem Poppets. So, the art journal I created for the round robin of course had to have the theme: “What’s Your Totem?” That journal, -with the very first Totem Poppets- after being gone a year finally came home this week! I was so impressed with what the girls/ladies did… They had very limited direction and primitive tools, (I hadn’t yet tested and selected eyelets and eyelet setters.) They have graciously given me permission to share the work they created here. So, over the next couple of weeks I’ll be posting pictures of the art journal pages in my “What’s Your Totem” for your viewing pleasure. Here’s the outside of journal… 20140711-110925.jpg I created a flap on the front and the back of the journal. The inside flap has the table of contents and the back flap has a grommet to lace it closed. 20140711-112459.jpg20140711-112511.jpg The collage pieces used are all tester or failed print attempts from my photography on Erin Sparler.com. 20140711-112736.jpg I also used the Totem Poppet Sea Monster and the Totem Poppet Swan. 20140711-112930.jpg20140711-112939.jpg Here is the final completed exterior of the What’s Your Totem art journal completely unfolded so you can see the entire design… 20140711-113109.jpg20140711-113120.jpg I’d love to know what your totem is… let me know what your totem animal is in the comments below. Or send me pictures of what you’ve made using the Totem Poppets or Lace-Ups too could be featured on EyeConnect Crafts! Sincerely, Erin, Owner EyeConnect Crafts
